Go to Administration->GreenHopper->General Configuration

Under Greenhopper Labs (why everybody takes cool names from google? :) ), you have Card Background Colour. Check it.

Go to Agile->Task Board

In the top right corner you have list Tools. Select Configuration.

Here you have your project configuration.
Go to tab Card Styles

Check the option Enable background colour by default. (GreenHopper Labs).

Here you can manipulate the background color for each issue type.
And now I have small tip for you. If you want to change Issue Colour, you need to click on ChangeColour button and then adjust the color you want by selecting one of defined colors or moving sliders or entering the values in input box. But to store the selection you need to click on the area of sample of the color you created. That's kind of tricky to figure out.

And now the last thing you need to do to see the colorful background of issues.

Again go to Tools, but this time select User Preferences and screen General.
Under Look and Feel, you need to check the option Background Colour and click on the Save and apply button.
That's all you need to do in order to have the old look and feel.
